Update from the Gardens

Wow! Full moon of July mixed with multiple heavy rain events in one week mixed with warm sunny days equals everything is growing like crazy.  All the green beans, lettuce, beets, and carrots that I direct seeded at the end of last week are coming up with an authority only seen in mid summer.  As I check their growth, the scent of milk weed blossoms fills the air, as does their monarch butterfly partners.  On Sunday, after a day of 4 thunderstorms, as the sun was getting low in the sky, we witnessed a beautiful double rainbow in the eastern sky.  Next week looks like the first of the shelling peas and cucumbers.
